This Privacy Policy sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or you provide to us, will be processed by us.  Please read the following information carefully. For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 1998 (the Act), that we; Uvet Travel & Events UK Ltd, trading as Uvet.co.uk are the Data Controller for this www.uvet.co.uk website (the “website”).

Uvet UK is, is a trading name of UVET TRAVEL & EVENTS UK LIMITED (Company Number 02107955). Uvet UK, (“we”, “us” or “our”) are committed to protecting the privacy of our clients, potential clients and users of our website. We want to provide a safe and secure user experience. We will ensure that the information you submit to us, or which we collect, via various channels (including our website, through written correspondence including e-mail is only used for the purposes set out in this policy. 

Through this Privacy Policy we aim to inform you about the types of personal data we collect from users, the purposes for which we use the data and the ways in which the data is handled. We also aim to satisfy the obligation of transparency under the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and national laws implementing GDPR.

References in this Privacy Policy to our Group of companies is to the parent company of Uvet UK, and to other subsidiaries of Uvet Travel & Events UK.

We are keen to strike a fair balance between your personal privacy and ensuring that you obtain full value from the products and services (“the Services”) that we may provide to you.

The Company is registered with the Information Commissioner as a data controller, with registration number ZA220685.

•    Details of transactions you carry out through this website and of the fulfilment of your bookings.

The Legal Basis for Processing your Personal Information

Under GDPR, the main grounds that we reply upon in order to process personal information of our users are the following:

We will retain your personal information for the time necessary to provide the Services we perform for you, or stated by the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy.

How we share your Personal Information

We may disclose your personal information to relevant third parties who will supply the travel arrangements or other services you requested, to Government bodies and other authorities to whom we are legally obliged to pass your data (e.g. border agencies of countries you intend to visit) and to relevant third parties for the purpose of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

 Trusted Third Parties

We will only share your personal information with trusted third parties where we have retained them to provide services that you have requested or for our legitimate business purposes, such as IT or professional support services.

 

New Business Owners

If we or our business merges with or is acquired by another business or company, we will share your personal information with the new owners of the business or company and their advisors. If this happens, we will notify you of such an event.

 

Transfer of Information outside the EEA

Under the General Data Protection Regulation, we are required to tell you if we transfer or intend to transfer information which we hold on you to countries outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”). We currently transfer such information outside the EEA in the following circumstances:

 (a)   where the suppliers of the travel arrangements or other services you requested are outside of the EEA.

 Visitors to our websites

When someone visits www.uvet.co.uk we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website. If we do want to collect personally identifiable information through our website, we will be up front about this. We will make it clear when we collect personal information and will explain what we intend to do with it.

 

Use of cookies and tracking technology

We use cookies (defined below) for collecting user information from the Sites. Cookies are messages given to a web browser by a web server. The message is then stored by the browser in a text file called cookie.txt. Each time the browser requests a page from the server, this message is sent back. A cookie’s main objective is to identify users and personalise their visit by customising web pages for them, for example by welcoming them by name next time they visit the same site.

E-mail campaign

We use a third party provider, Mailchimp, to deliver our e-mail campaigns. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies including clear gifs to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please see Mailchimp privacy notice.

 

Security and performance

The Uvet UK uses a third party service to help maintain the security and performance of the Sites. To deliver this service it processes the IP addresses of visitors to the uvet.co.uk website.

 

We respect your information and have put in place measures to ensure the security of the information we collect and store about you. We are committed to protecting your personal data from unauthorised disclosure and/or access including through the use of network and database security measures (though these cannot always guarantee the security of any data which is collected and stored).

 

Internet based transfers

Given that the Internet is a global environment, using the Internet to collect and process personal data necessarily involves the transmission of data on an international basis. Unfortunately the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our site via third party networks; any transmission is at your own risk. WordPress

We use a third party service, WordPress.com, to publish our blog. These site is hosted at WordPress.com, which is run by Automattic Inc. We use a standard WordPress service to collect anonymous information about users’ activity on the site, for example the number of users viewing pages on the site, to monitor and report on the effectiveness of the site and help us improve it. Our sites contain links to and from the websites of our suppliers and other third parties.  If you follow a link to any of these other websites, please note that these websites have their own privacy policies and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for these policies or for these 3rd party websites.  This privacy notice does not cover the links within these sites linking to other websites.
